It took awhile to organize, but we finally had the first Rarefied Recording Workshop last weekend. We had 6 participants and had a blast recording/mixing a song for Matt Fowler (musician, music-teacher, and engineer/producer/studio owner in his own-right. See www.peregrinemusic.com ). The teachers were Brian Scheuble (http://brianscheuble.com) and Rarefied owner/chief engineer, Roy Silverstein. Day one was spent recording drums and bass. Day two was all about acoustic/electric guitar, piano/keys, and vocals. Day three was all about mixing with half of the day spent mixing Matt’s song and the other listening to mixes from the participants and offering feedback/advice.
We plan to do more of these and mix it up with some different focuses. So stay tuned and get in touch if you’re interested!

Well, you dream big and sometimes you dream too big!
While we think the idea for a 10 day summer intensive on recording and mixing was great, there just doesn’t seem to be a group of folks out there with that much time and money on their hands. So we are cancelling the workshop.
Brian Scheuble and I would like to do a shorter 3 day workshop. So we are now seeking participants for that. For now we are not committing to any particular date. We’d like to find 6 serious participants and then find a time that works for all of them as well as tailor the workshop to their needs. We think this represents a great opportunity to really deliver a meaningful experience to all involved.
If you’re interested, please get in touch via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or you can text or call 619-432-2642.
The cost is now a much more manageable $500/person.
